I have known Ruth for over a year. We first met her when she was a neighbour of my brother who at the time was struggling both mentally and physically with long term addiction. Ruth became a wonderful support and friend to myself and my family. Despite just being my brothers neighbour she agreed to be his personal carer throughout very difficult times. We employed her privately as my brother had total trust in her high standard of care and she had a wonderful rapport with him. She persuaded him to agree to personal care that he wouldn’t allow his regular carers do. She brightened up his days as at the time he was really struggling with life generally. He passed away earlier this year and Ruth has supported us through this difficult time. My brother had many challenging issues but Ruth knew how to address these. She was such a tremendous support and totally reliable, I really don’t know how I would have have coped without her help over the past year . She is a very pleasant, intelligent person and has a great sense of humour. I would recommend Ruth to care for any of my family members if ever required in the future. Christine Lee RGN

Ruth came to look after our 94 year old father after a long period in hospital which had left him with decreased mobility and in low spirits. Previously independent and never having had care, we were worried how it would work out but Ruth’s cheerful demeanour, great sense of humour and ‘can do’ attitude to life won him over and Dad allowed her to take over aspects of his life, accept his loss of independence and looked forward to her visits. She undertook all his domestic work, cooking from scratch and his personal care. Ruth became a much valued part of Dad’s life and this brought peace of mind for the family. We established a relationship of trust as her experience, professionalism and compassionate nature became evident. She was always completely reliable and also made herself available and went the extra mile when needed. Most importantly Ruth was involved with Dad at the end of his life while he was still living at home and being cared for by the Community End of Life team. She was a stalwart, encouraging and friendly companion to Dad at this time. Her sensitivity and support to us was greatly appreciated. We would unhesitatingly recommend Ruth as a carer.
