Crown & Mitre Hotel

Room fine, bit tired, breakfast nice, staff really friendly, car park tiny so don't expect a space. Evening on street parking nearby if you know where to look. There was a wedding reception in a ground floor reception room, the music could be heard clearly on floor 2, and continued until midnight, not conducive to a relaxing stay (hence, 3 ⭐). As we were in Carlisle to visit family we didn't need to be central, if you do its a great location. Sad to say I would think again before returning unless I want to be close to castle and cathedral.

An amazing luxurious experience, at a fantastic price! Like stepping back into the bygone days of Edwardian splendour and top class service. Unlike the many bland soulless budget hotels you find today, this hotel has the grandeur of yesteryear, and the staff are extremely efficient and helpful. Cannot praise this hotel enough, totally deserves 5 stars. Well worth a visit. Plus a convenient location to visit without a car as everything on the doorstep. Will most definitely be returning.

Great hotel in the centre of Carlisle. Stayed here to attend our son's Graduation. It is a 'grand hotel', with large rooms sweeping staircase and lots of wood panels. It is a bit 'dated' but I feel adds to the charm of the place. The pool was great and we had a relaxing time, chilling with our son's. Nice bar on the ground floor and a great place to meet with others. Breakfast was as you would expect. Enjoyed our stay here.

Lovely staff and location. The hotel is nice comfy beds, great breakfast. The rooms are adequate but have seen better days needs bringng up to date with either new carpets or a really good shampooing also the chairs. Hope.the owners do modernise the rooms before they start look8 g seedy
