Five of us long time friends had the most amazing afternoon tea today to celebrate us all turning 50 this year. we were give a glass each of complimentary prosecco to celebrate. the venue is beautiful. actually felt like we were on holiday. the service was absolutely fantastic. couldn’t fault anything. very polite and attentive staff and we weren’t rushed at all. the food was divine and very different to a lot of afternoon teas we’ve had. would love to give a special mention to our lovely server who came running out to give me the doggie bag i left, but didn’t get his name. thanks so much. had the best day and would highly recommend.
Yet another amazing wedding. nothing but absolute 5* service. did not stay over but i believe the rooms of other guests were impeccable too. food outstanding. thanks for an amazing night
We have just come back from having a one night stay in the 2 bedroom apartment at the halston. the apartment was absolutely lovely, so spacious, well decorated, loads of natural light and everything that you could wish for. it has a hob, oven/microwave, kettle, coffee machine, selection of teas and coffees. a packet of 6 crumpets were left and a small bottle of milk in the fridge and water. we requested if there was availability for a travel cot and when we got there it was already set up with a comfy mattress insert and a soft cellular blanket. the bathroom had both a shower and a bath and there were complimentary soaps and shower gels left and the towels were soft and fluffy. the beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were just right. the only thing that let it down was it was very warm (random heatwave) and the windows only opened slightly however there were fans were provided in each bedroom and one for the living room area. there is a lot of nightlife near this hotel and you can hear it however by midnight it was completely quiet. parking is quite expensive however you do get 20% discount if you take your ticket to the front desk and pay there. if i was coming back to carlisle i would definitely stay here again.
We stayed 2 nights in one of their apartment suites. beautiful room, comfy and clean. more impressive was the very friendly and helpful staff and the adjoining restraunts. i made their cafe my go to for my stay after the first morning, sweet little ginger girl was cheery and made a good cup. the front desk was helpful and pointed us around town. and the penny blue was delicious. well seasoned and perfectly cooked. this place is fairly priced and worth a stay
We played here in oct 20123 for a wedding. the staff are really good, and very very helpfull. i like it when the wedding coordinator introduces you to the bride and groom before the guests arrive into the room. sadly not many venues do this, but the halston do this, so big plus from me. :) the function suite is modern, clean, and well designed. even a proper place for entertainment, which is great to see. the evening food was hot and well prepared. access is easy if your bring a trolley. without a trolley there's about 5 steps, over a 30 meters carry distance. my only complaint is the over use of their coloured ceiling lights. surely there's no need to use them all at full power? the whole room was pink, like a scene from barbie! it's was just far too much.
