Service good and food ok but i've had much better. very expensive at £193 for 4 people
Ordered takeaway for 4 to be collected. pick up was straightforward, food ready on time. however food was disappointing, sauces were thin and bland with little meat per portion
Only opened yesterday (19/10/20) so there were a few teething problems we noticed, however in a new venture these would be expected. staff need time to gel and learn their new environment, for example, forgetting the wine glasses, only bringing one rice instead of two, slight errors in the orders (not ours) perhaps at times being a bit too forward in asking if we had finished, when we were having a pause, indian food needs to be savoured not rushed, however the staff were all very smiley and helpful and willing to rectify any issues, so no biggie. food was lovely, tasty and plentiful, perhaps not as piping hot as i'd like, but acceptable. this restaurant is literally up the road from my home, so plan on eating here as often as finances allow. so lovely to see the the dhakar open again as the building has been closed for many years. i wish you great success for the future. nicely decorated inside too, wish i'd taken a few pictures to show you.
Tried the dhaka as it had a sunday special on of : papadum and pickle tray, any starter and any mains plus rice or nana bread for £19.99 per person. we personally was very disappointed. it may have been the dishes we picked, but the food seemed very planned. i have had similar dishes at other restaurants, and they have been much tastier. i also felt very rushed. the waiter came to clear our table before we had finished eating. we were in and out in 45 mins. also, at the end, the waiter tried to charge us full price at £75.10 instead of the buffet price plus drinks and a couple of extras that came to £54.30.
