Barchester - Llys-Y-Tywysog Care Home

This was more like a holiday than respite care. The food was delicious and creative, They have themed events, such as an American Independence Day celebration. This food was, as usual, first rate with typically American dishes (the pulled pork and cajun chicken were restaurant worthy dishes). this was followed by entertainment in the form of an Elvis tribute act, though he also sang some other songs from the 50s and 60s. All of the residents sang along. I had a room with a patio and ensuite which was worth every penny as I could watch the wildlife (various birds and squirrels) up close. I would not hesitate to come here again if I needed more care. The laundry and ironing service were a godsend and the hair salon every Tuesday was very good value. A podiatrist also visited when I was there, which I was very pleased about, as she removed hard skin and cut my nails which I had been unable to reach to do myself. They are open to suggestions you make and your visiting guests are also made to feel very welcome with cups of tea or coffee, cakes and biscuits available to all. Some guests even attend meals. All in all, though expensive, this was worth every penny, Thanks you to all of the staff for making me feel so cared for and welcome.

Brilliant care home, I work there doing the fitness sessions with the residents and always receive a warm welcome. The residents have a great time each time I am there and are always looked after well by the team who are very professional in their work. Looking forward to visiting them again for our next session

I have resently visited here regularly as an outside professional. The home is always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful which made me feel very welcome. There are always a variety of activities for the residents to get involved in and the food looks amazing. I love the complimentary cakes and coffee at the entrance.

I have recently visited with children from the local primary school to make links within our community. We had a fantastic welcome from staff and residents and lots of smiles were shared.... the children couldn't wait to return. Such a lovely set up "it's like a posh hotel" were the words of one child. The range of activities for residents surpassed my expectations, as did the outside area and shared spaces. A credit to all staff working there to allowing us to make friends with engaged, happy and relaxed residents. Thank you.

I have many friends who have had family members in llys y tywysog , the care they receive is absolutely incredible , the activities are a pleasure to see on their web page . The home is always welcoming to the public on open days and very accommodating to the church members who really enjoy the coffee mornings . The atmosphere is so friendly and staff can't do enough to help ., it's always a pleasure to visit . Residents seem to enjoy a happy varied life at llys , well done to everyone .
