St James the Greater, Oaks-in-Charnwood

Was christened at the church in 1930 and attended the school from 1935-38 now a private dwelling. Every spring bank holiday Monday is the church fair, a large open air event, rarely missed in my lifetime. A quarter mile away is the Abbey of Mount St. Bernard, Blackbrook reservoir and the windmill house. A most beautiful part of the country.

My best friend got married here on the 15th April and it was the most amazing and beautiful place I've ever been to

Beautiful venue. And all done up for Oaks in charnwood country fair. Bell ringers were superb.

Beautiful church and lovely congregation and vicar. I had the pleasure and honour to photograph a wedding ceremony there on Saturday 15th April 2023 and it was glorious.
