I have a 28-year history of back problems, ranging from a herniated disc, Psoas muscle spasms, sciatica, chronic hip and back pain, altered sensation due to nerve damage. Cheryl works closely with you in both a hands-on practical manner, but also educating you about your body/ condition and teaching you to look holistically at your welfare. Stressful responses can have a huge impact and learning how to deal with them, is equally as powerful as using physical movement to help with conditions and pain relief. The knowledge that these movements can be so small, but the effect so huge has been mind-blowing. With Cheryl’s help, I’ve learnt to have a greater insight into my body, I’ve learnt a range of movements/exercises I can utilise, which allow me to help myself. What Cheryl has given me is freedom, an ability to trust my back again, the capacity not to fall back into panic mode, when I do have pain and most importantly, a tool kit of solutions that allow me to help myself, when those situations occur again. I’m not naïve to believe that me and my back won’t have issues again, but I have gained more confidence, I have more control over both my emotional and physical responses to those issues. I have completed a package with Cheryl of eight 1:1 Somatic sessions and I am delighted with all I have achieved and learnt. I also have the knowledge that I can call upon Cheryl for further treatment or education if I need it. This has been a precious experience and I’d recommend it to anyone with long term/ chronic conditions associated with pain. Thank you Cheryl, I appreciate so much all you have done for me.

Having suffering from neck ,shoulder and arm pain for many years a friend recommended Cheryl to me. After 6 one on one sessions my neck and shoulders responded well to the techniques Cheryl taught me. Now 6 weeks later and regularly doing the exercises , my arm has regained full movement. Cheryl teaches you to help yourself and is clearly passionate about what she does. Thanks for helping me to mend myself.

Cheryl is extremely knowledgeable and explains the concepts and movements of somatics in a way that is thorough, yet easy to follow. The sessions have helped immensely and after suffering with years of lower back issues and generally feeling a bit 'wonky', I am now able to move much more freely and without pain!

I have worked with Cheryl on a 1:1 basis and attended her classes and workshops for the last 3 years. I absolutely love what she does. She has an excellent understanding of the brain and body and how gentle somatic movement can help pain. Her whole approach is to teach you how you can help yourself by sharing her knowledge and understanding and different somatic movements. The movements have helped me after tweaking my back instead of taking ibuprofen - a few somatic movements & the spasms stopped and the pain gradually disappeared. I absolutely recommend her.
