The County Hotel

It's not as good this time round. Usually, have a good stay. Had to pay £9 a night to use the car park, even though we were staying overnight, we usually stay for 3 nights that would be £21 on top of the hotel stay bill. We could park on the side of the road free of charge as we have disabilities. We did receive our money back as we left the car near my son's. The room had a light that kept flickering, which gave me a headache, and the radiator near my bed had a leak. On a positive note the staff are friendly and helpful and Reimbursed the car park charges as we had not used it. So that was fair.

I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times. I had a single room, the reason I rated 2 stars for the rooms are: inside space, noisy fan in the toilet and for separate hot and cold water. Better if they replaced it with a mixer tap. Hotel location, services and breakfast are very good.

Pre booked and nice to recieve upgraded room on arrival. Wooden flooring in room looks nice but nit ideal during the night Beds comfortable Breakfast @£10 each is good value but chargeable parking is a bit of a joke - parked on street at no cost. Somewhat noisy from outside throughout night Service by all staff was excellent. Edit - to manager - I didn't say parking was a joke, just the cost to park. Only negative, rest of stay was very good. Hope you didn't misunderstand.

Very nice hotel, the room I was given was clean and tidy and very well presented only downfall was the windows faced a wall so there was no view. The restaurant was great and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and the overall stay was a pleasant one.

First of all the good stuff: on arrival the reception staff were friendly and despite our room not being available help us by allowing us an area to change as we were on a tight timetable to attend an event. While waiting for the room, we used the bar. Typical prices and friendly service, all very pleasant. The room was very good. More coffee options than you could wish for a large bed, which was comfortable, a big bathroom with an amazing bath. Breakfast was also very good. Amazing selection and again the staff were attentive and supportive, great service from the team throughout the stay. 100% for staffing. Now for things that can improve: Overall, the stay I felt was expensive. We had a slightly better rate due to a wedding booking but overpriced at £154. On top of this was an additional £9 charge to park our car in the car park. A little better attention from us would have resulted in us looking elsewhere to stay. The shower in our room was pointless, but due to a breakdown, I'm guessing, but the bath facility did compensate for this. Reported to reception and the staff again was amazing apologising and dealing with this for the next stay with maintenance. These things happen. Overall, I would stay again, but not for £154 plus £9 parking. Certainly feeling a little ripped off
