Crowne Plaza Chester, an IHG Hotel

Great location. Booked room for 3- pull out sofa wasn't so comfortable, hence 4 star rather than 5. However, service was fantastic. Check in was delayed because room wasn't quite ready so we were given vouchers for drinks at the bar while we waited. Our daughter has multiple dietary restrictions and the team were fantastic throughout our stay. Felt really reassured that they were being careful. Restaurant/ bar has stunning views and food was lovely. Only 4 min walk from the cathedral and access to city wall walk

Great location food and service was spot on. My only issue was the Bathrooms are very dated and in much need of a makeover. The air conditioning units outside sounded like a helicopter taking off constant through the night which affected sleep which we reported on check out but other than that hotel was OK.

This is a very nice hotel inside. The outside looks like a multistory car park and the entrance to the hotel at street level isn't very nice, its in quite a seedy looking backstreet. Some of the bedrooms, bar and breakfast area have nice views of welsh hills in the distance. The price per night varied a lot through different companies and it was cheaper to book on the night rather than in advance. I always thought booking in advance would give you the best price. Great breakfast, lots to chose from fruit, cereals, yoghurt, pastries and a whole host of cooked items. There is a small pool and jacuzi with steam and sauna rooms. There is a small car park which you have to pay extra for.

Had a really pleasant stay as part of a business stop over for a couple of days. The rooms are really nice and clean, a good size. The bathrooms are more suited for baths as opposed to showers (I’m a shower person!), but other than that no complaints. We ate in the restaurant on one evening and there’s a good selection of reasonably priced meals, but the Food Market is only a 2 min walk which offers a huge arrange of different cuisines, which in hindsight I’d prefer to eat there more frequently given the variety of food available. The pool and sauna rooms are a nice touch and thoroughly enjoyed these. We’ll be looking to book here again on the next stay for sure.

I will not be going back for no other reason than there is cheaper options in terms of location. I would not say this is a 4 star hotel either, lovely spaces within hotel but rooms are definitely not 4 Star. Floor in bathroom dirty on arrival and no tissues in the dispenser in bathroom. Was glad there was toilet rolls. We had drinks delivered to the room, that was delivered to the room quickly and without issue. When checking out I informed the reception of the issues in the room and the room service drinks were taken off our bill as way of apology. Parking was great and location was great too. 3 Star hotel never 4 Srar
