MHA Callin Court - Retirement Apartments

Reviewing this place is for the people that are looking at either putting lived ones here or those that decided to have extra help. I can only review on what I have seen and at first I was sceptical as you would be about your loved ones too. After sometime I've discovered that this is a caring place and by every member of the team they really do an amazing job and review needs regularly, an example would be that of my mother died just a few weeks ago and my Dad was beside himself but with the extra support put in place to help deal with the grief not only by the staff but other residents was exceptional and is making a real difference in the grief process. The flats are what you make them after all it is a rented flat for you to do as you see fit within reason. The food is really good every day and being waited on as if in a decent restaurant, again the staff can't do enough and upon my visits I'm asked every time if I'd like to eat too. Nothing is to much and today we planted a tree in commemoration of my Mum which is an amazing touch. I'd like to thank all the staff.

This place is really nice. Can't imagine why so many empty flats! Think spate of people needing nursing care. They welcome pets too if well behaved, that's why I came 6 months ago with 3 legged rescue cat Pippa. She's very happy but will give 5 stars when we can get down on ground floor as the courtyard garden is amazing and can garden to my heart's content, which has kept me sane since losing my husband of 64years ,one week before queen. If you don't like gardening there's plenty going on everyday if you ve energy! The courtyard has lots of flats overlooking if you just prefer to admire it. There's a laundry on every floor, free if you do it yourself or you can pay someone. Great dining room that you get billed when and if you use it, or delivered to your flat for extra pound I think. Entirely up to you. All got kitchens you can cook in or your relative if so inclined. 5 minutes I'm in my bank in Chester on my mobility scooter! All the shops you need. Having a walkabout this Thursday by cathedral, or river Dee if weather ok by carers. Won't say to much about them as don't want them to get big heads! Come and have a look, why be alone. You can lock your door here knowing there's someone on duty if needed. Phone Jesse, she's also new. X
