Visited with a party of 13 including children, they were extremely accommodating and couldn't help more. we found a little area to one side of the pub with seating where we could keep the kids out of the main pub area. we ordered food the sharing platters and a number of sides the food was well cooked and plentiful and the prices were certainly value for money. staff very friendly and helpful without being in your face. i would certainly recommend eating here. the location is next to a part of the old city walls only accessible by foot no parking here as too central.
December 2022: good selection of craft ales from the pied bull brewery. reputed to be the oldest licenced house, dating back to 1155, still houses the original staircase which dates from 1535. we drank tangibull pale ale with tangerine and mint chocolate bauballs. both really tasty and easy drinking. good service. dog friendly. **haunted**
Lovely, old school atmosphere, friendly staff and great food!!
Lovely old pub, enjoyed food and drinks. not many vegetarian options. fast and great service
Could not fault the food and ambience in the restaurant. the staff where attentive but not intrusive. the garlic mushrooms with crispy egg was to die for. the veggie option pie was cheese and onion and was filled to the top within a tasty and crispy crust. the restaurant is so much better than the bar in the same building
