The hall is absolutely stunning well worth a visit. the surrounding grounds are more of a nature park and a great place to walk the dog. cafe ok but felt rushed in to purchasing food.
We had a beautiful day wondering round the well kept grounds after an extremely interesting tour of the hall. lots of knowledgeable guides on hand. we finished with a pot of tea and delicious, well filled sandwiches. great day out.
Took our grand children yesterday, imagine the surprise... park closed!!! all that was open was the cafe, everything else was blocked off, no access to the park, because people was setting up for the flower show. we was told if we wanted to access the play area for children we had to follow the footpath which was on the edge of the housing estate. however when we finally got there, our 7yr old grandson really enjoyed himself, but there's nothing for the younger children.
Always enjoy visiting this park. it has lovely walks through the park and wooded walks. it has a great play area for young and older children. the cafe is also worth visiting and quite often has local art exhibitions on show. have visited many times. it also holds the chorley flower show here each year in july which is a great day out too and other events throughout the year. there is a car park which is free.
Lovely place to visit, nice leisurely walks, good play areas for children. the hall is open to visit, obtain your tickets from the souvenir shop, there is a discount for people with a local postcode. it is free admission to the park and grounds. free car park. excellent cafe area and shop with wines, spirits, beers, biscuits and much more. will definitely visit again
