Love this golf course, lots of varied holes to play, with water, ponds, ditches, bridges! great facilities too, a cafe, bar, reception, driving range. pooch friendly outside the cafe! greens kept really well.
First time playing duxbury for a good few years, not much changed in layout if anything has? all in pretty good order apart from fairways a bit long, not that i hit many🫢🫢greens were in good nick considering how conditions have been. enjoyed our round at a good price and will be putting duxbury on our rota, thanks
First time playing this course today, the whole course was like a bog, i don't know if there are problems with drainage or that's just how it always is? borderline unplayable really which is a shame because it's a pretty nice course, nice layout and the driving range is handy. maybe i'll give it another go next year when the weathers nicer
Visited as a golf group of about 20. pre-round bacon roll/coffee was good, post-round pie, pies and gravy very good and service good but the course was a mud bath. i have no doubt they just couldn't get the mowers out on the course due to the boggy conditions but the combination of the extra long, wet grass and mud was too much for my limited capabilities. the same issues made it incredibly hard finding our golf balls, even on many fairways, which became very frustrating and made the pace of play very slow. i have played this course before in the summer, a good few years back admittedly, and course was really good. the off-course facilities have improved enormously, though.
Only used driving range, i went at 10:00 and was pretty empty the whole time. has 9 bays in total all with top tracer tech, was easy to use/setup really fun to get yardages or closest to pin or virtual holes. a bit on the expensive side coming in at £6 for 40 balls or £10 for 80 but if you want to use the tech then it's worth it rather than just trying to hit flags.
