Worden Park

I love Worden Park. It's a great place to go to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens. And, of course, have coffee and cake in the café

We goto Worden Park regularly as its fairly decent for our kids. Some of the play equipment has been there since I was a very young child and I'm now 39, so it's a bit tired. Cafe is nice but a touch expensive. Public toilets let this place down as they are always trashed, but that's more about the people who use them. More regular cleaning and maintenance would be appreciated. You also need plenty of loose change as they are pay to use. The small scale model railway is fantastic as its real steam trains you and your child can actually ride on. They are super cool.

My last visit here was in 2018. Since then money has been spent on the hall with a new cafe in 2020. Now, 3 years on it is starting to show signs of neglect. Broken toilet seat and rather dirty toilet generally. Paint flaking off the wall in the cafe. Clearly no maintenance contract in place after the initial refurb. Not sure if the hall is used for anything but it has a very grand entrance. The walled garden was significantly run down. No sign to tell you where the entrance was. Unkempt beds and no organised presentation of the set up at all. Mini golf looked like it hasn't been used in years. Miniature railway wasn't running on this Friday in September. Nothing to say when it would be running. On the plus side the formal garden was well planted and presented with plenty of benches around to sit and take it all in. The maze looked good though we didn't venture in. Money was being spent on tarmack for the footpaths and estate road improving access tremendously. Paths into the woods and down to the brook looked tempting but we decided to go back in dryer weather to avoid getting too much mud on our shoes. Parking was plentiful and free though there were pay and display machines covered with out of service notices. So it might be you will have to pay in future. All in all very average. We might go back next summer when the weather is dryer for a walk through the woods.

Something to do for everyone. If you've never been, go to the parks cafe in the gardens. Don't use the kiosk looking one. It's over priced. Much better options at a much lower price at the proper cafe for less money.

Charming, peaceful, well kept park! We've really enjoyed our visit and a walk in this breathtaking park. We were pleasantly surprised in how lovely and well kept it is. Amazing experience.
