RE: Extension to Earls Colne: Airbase & Hangar and Grass Roots Build: North Weald Airbase. Pre-Construction Phases HPD worked cohesively with all appointed parties within the Principle Design Team. HPD were exceptional at handling the requests for information and offering suggestions and guidance throughout. The outcome of this collaborative relationship was successful over both projects. Construction Phases Construction at Earls Colne commenced mid 2020, and at North Weald in February 2020. HPD developed key relationship building and primary stakeholder engagement prior to commencement. This has proved invaluable throughout the construction phase and post completion. Summary HPD have been a professional, considerate, proactive and mindful contractor throughout these projects. HPD have identified the need for a personal and professional stakeholder balance, and this has been achieved. HPD have proven commercially attentive and have sought to offer best value and extract best savings throughout the design and construction phase. Having never used architects before I was dubious about how it would work and what they could do for us. We had an initial consultation with Mark Potter, who was friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Other architects often dont attend this initial meeting and will instead send a junior (unqualified) staff member. He took us through the initial conception phase of our double extension, working out our what we need to achieve and why. We had several meetings to flesh out the plans and to make any changes we wanted to with the design. Most of these were conducted virtually through various lockdowns and it was a smooth and easy process. Costs were set out early and did not deviate. The finished products were excellent and helped to gain both planning and building regulations sign off with ease. Throughout Mark and his team have been available for help and advice and we've really benefitted from their input and knowledge. Get in touch and use them with confidence, they are excellent.
