East Hill Garage

Went to Eats hill Garage after being presented with a quote of £170.00 from Halfords, to repair a part of the car filter. The guy in East Hill Garage had a look took the piece and just put it back in place. No ordering a new piece or charging, just put back the piece that was just disconnected. Absolutely fabulous service! Will be our garage from now on.

My partner is currently going thru a court case due to negligence. He gave you permission to scrap a car, but months after, he's been prosecuted for driving the same car without insurance. We came to your office, but all the info you could give was that you don't use the guy anymore. You guys said the cost to repair was too hight, the best option was to scrap, and he didn't a dime from the scraping. The money went to you guys for service rendered. It is a citreon car with reg number SR14....

Disappointed Charged over £1,000 for unnecessary work. Given a misdiagnosis. Engine Management Light came back on within 10 minutes of them telling me "car's all done" returning home. Took a week just for them to agree to look at it again. Another 3 days for them to tell me they actually didn't know what's wrong. Broke down trying to get to another garage thinking it was a previous problem of a Timing Chain.. had it confirmed by two independent garages that the problem was actually with the functionality of the oil pump... misdiagnosed by East Hill changing parts that I had already said I had changed. Spent several days of emails explaining that I would therefore have to tow the car back to them as surely the work and misdiagnosis would be under warranty. They refused the car on arrival... saying nobody had read the company emails as Marc had been on holiday, lovely for him! He then claimed that East Hill are unable to change an Oil pump. That can only be done at MINI Cooper. Anyone reading this would know that is a complete lie. Had to then pay for the car to be towed again. Their resolution was a £49 return of the original mis-diagnositical fee. Judging by their track record this will be a lie and a broken promise too. As I said to them, with all due respect I am disappointed to say the least.

Got my car MOT’d and serviced there. Couldn’t be more happy with work done. Garage was very flexible with timings and carried all unnecessary works with no unnecessary delay. Highly recommend and happy to say that this place will be by new local garage of choice from now on.

For years I was taking my car to another garage in Colchester and every single time I had an MOT, there was a huge list of 'problems'. East Hill was recommended to me and I'm so glad I switched to them. They are really honest (hard to find around here from my personal expierence), reliable and friendly. I needed my brake discs and pad replacing quite urgently recently and they managed to fit me in the next day and with very reasonably priced work! Great garage, wouldn't ever take my car anywhere else now 😊
