I joined for a month, along with my two teenage boys in December 2022 whilst in town visiting from overseas. Since then I have been unable to stop the monthly deductions from my account. Several attempts contacting by email result in me having to provide information we no longer have (pin access numbers etc). Now we've paid 6 months memberships x 3 and the bank have had to cancel my C/C and issue a new one as the only method of ceasing the payments. Gym itself was OK and equipment was fine- toilets were filthy.
Would be higher if the equipment weren't literally rusting. The staff all seem like reasonably nice people even if most of them don't do an awful lot but I suppose there are only so many times you can rerack a weight. Decent enough atmosphere and the gym is usable but MATE, slim down the cardio area that barely anyone uses, get some more cable machines and actual resistance gear in that will see some use and get some new machines in. Also the fact DBs only go up to like 34 kgs is a bit dumb.
People are friendly, the gym is never usually over crowded meaning access to machines is decent compared to other gyms, equipment is pretty good and arranged well. Occasionally you get groups of kids mucking about but again Depends on time you go and this happens anywhere I suppose missed out on a star down to machines breaking and taking a while to fix, No enforcement of the rules from people who work there which is frustrating and needs a good clean is the only other point but overall it’s a decent 24hr gym for a decent price.
Really like the staff and the range of equipment. For the price this is well worth going to and no contract so not tied in like other gyms.
I used to go Puregym before, but I decided to switch gyms because of the unpleasant environment at puregym and it's the best decision I've made! Not only is The gym group affordable and accessible but also the environment here feels a lot more friendly and welcoming, the PTs are always around and happy to help and push you in classes!
