St Nicholas Hotel - Surya Hotels

I stayed here for my grandson's wedding. I had a very comfortable stay. Very clean. Access to facilties & reception was across the road at The George. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was very close to the Town Hall which was the wedding venue. I enjoyed my stay here.

Hotel is comfy with nice rooms. However we couldn’t control the air conditioning but a fan was supplied so we did manage to stay cool. Bathroom was very bright first thing in the morning could do with a blind of some sort. Also directions to hotel took us down a bus route and we received a fine so clearer directions to the car park would be helpful.

Stayed here for one night with family. The location is great (within town center) with ample connectivity to places in colchester. Room was spacious with big bathroom and well maintained. Check-in process was late & pain and the ladies at reception desk were not welcoming. Previous customer had a late check-out and surprisingly reception did not know how long it would take to provide me with the room. Definitely need some training in hospitality.

Considering some of the reviews I wasn't expecting much. How wrong was I the room was spacious and clean at the back so no noise. The breakfast served in George Hotel opposite was excellent great variety of food and cooked breakfast the best I've had for a while. I will definitely stay here again

Really top class rooms. Lovely beds. Good size rooms. Finished to a great standard. Much better than other local hotels. The food/drink at the George hotel over the road is lovely too. Staff are great. I left belongings in the room on check-out and they had them back to me within 15 minutes of speaking to the receptionist.
