Maharani Indian Restaurant

I’ve had chicken tikka biriyani and chargrilled chicken last week from this restaurant. I was going here for the first time, so I wasn’t aware of pre-booking to dine in. The staff was well behaved and offered us a table for few hours, which was actually enough 😇. Chicken Tikka Biriyani was so heavenly 🫶 awakened my taste buds after so long, to be honest. It was spicy like how i asked them to prepare, served with raitha. The biriyani costs around £12 - £13, but the taste was worth the money! The chargrilled chicken was on point with hot sauce and costs around £4.50 - £5, with a good portion of medium spicy chicken. Do recommend a visit to all the biriyani lovers (mention them if you want it more spicy or not)

I can come back to Maharani everyday, for the rest of my life, and enjoy their scrumptious food!!! Love everything! Welcoming people, great food, perfect environment at the heart of Colchester High Street! Way to go guys:)

Was our first time in years trying out this restaurant, probably not again. Loved the variety of options available and sounds really Indian, however the taste isn't. The dishes are majorly altered to fit into a British taste buds which lacks the essence of Indian spices. Otherwise the atmosphere was calm and nice, good service by the staff.

One of the best Curry restaurants in Colchester. It was simply superb. Highly reccomend this place if you're looking for a truly authentic cuisine and experience. I also felt it was incredibly reasonably priced as well. The service from the staff was friendly, bubbly and simply second to none as well!
