Ruth is a fantastic tutor. We started tutoring during the pandemic when my daughter was without any formal teaching and it was a godsend to have Ruth on zoom providing in person (albeit virtual) teaching and feedback. Ruth's scheme of work is clearly structured and very well paced. She's a great communicator and explains everything in a direct but accessible manner. She's also incredibly encouraging and supportive, which was essential for us as we were keen to ensure that our daughter was motivated to succeed but didn't feel unduly stressed by the process. In the end my daughter took the 11+ exam incredibly well prepared and ready to succeed and was totally unfazed by the exam setting. She achieved the result she deserved after all her hard work and we are extremely grateful to Ruth for guiding her so expertly throughout. We now have our other daughter tutoring with Ruth and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others.

My son has been coming to Ruth's 11+ classes over the last year, and he has really enjoyed his lessons. Not all tutors are the same (- we happen know some really bad ones from experience with an older sibling)... Importantly, Ruth has always been really positive with all the students, with a diverse and interesting material to challenge them, and I can see that every student is doing their best in the lessons and with the homework they submit. We have had to make a difficult decision to stop the lessons - but that was just because our boy managed to get into a private school earlier than we expected. Certainly the road to 11+ takes work and commitment, but the journey is better with Ruth by your side. Thank you so much, it was really great to have your support - and we all really really appreciate it. I would highly recommend Ruth to anyone who is looking for a fantastic tutor!

Ruth has been an excellent and thorough tutor over the past 2 years for son - giving honest and constructive feedback after every session and piece of homework. We were apprehensive about the virtual sessions initially but they worked so well for our son and fitted into our schedule well. Ruth’s sessions were well structured,engaging, challenging and varied. The mock exams were excellent preparation for the 11+ and our son went into the exam calm, confident and knowing what to expect and came out feeling proud of his efforts. To get the offer of a place at CRGS last week was the icing on the cake! We can’t thank Ruth enough and would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor, so much so that our daughter is now also in one of her classes.

Ruth is an amazing tutor with great subject knowledge. Her online lessons are designed to inspire and motivate her pupils who are always challenged and pushed to achieve the best. Ruth's detailed and very specific feedback during my son's 11+ preparation was always tailored to his needs and abilities and turned out to be one of the main contributing factors to his success. The exercises, papers and book recommendations offered were also of the highest standard. My son was offered a place in Colchester Royal Grammar School on National Offer day. We were very pleased with Ruth's professionalism and expertise in our 11+ journey. She always had time to discuss any issues or queries I had and I am really glad my son was part of her lessons.
