Turned up without a reservation and they managed to fit us in. the staff are really friendly and attentive. we didn't have to wait around long for our order to be taken. i had the calamari to start, which was really well cooked, crispy outside and soft inside, not rubbery. mains, we shared the butchers block, consisting of fillet steak, rib eye, and rump steak. topped with a portion of ribs. each steak was cooked just how we wanted it. never disappointed with a visit here.
Brilliant joint birthday dinner. food/drinks and service was fantastic! kris was our server, really lovely and checked in on us regularly :) will definitely be returning for more dinner celebrations! thanks also to the kitchen for beautiful food. steak, lobster and scallops cooked to perfection.
Warm welcome from the staff at m&c today as we popped in for a 2 course set menu lunch. quite busy but not so much that a definite booking was required, so we were able to turn up at a time that suited us. shown to a nice table and were able to order drinks and peruse the menu at leisure. we opted for starters and then mains so we could see if we had room left after that for a dessert. sadly, we didn't but we did enjoy very nice starter of cheddar mushrooms and very succulent breaded calamari, followed by steak and a very decent sized chicken dish. food very nice, pleasant atmosphere and good value for set menu lunch.
Busy considering it was early evening, waitress was friendly and attentive and food arrived promptly. we had a sharing platter one side and 3 alcoholic drinks coffee and a sharing dessert and came to £130 which has gone up a bit since was last there. food was great and steaks were melt in the mouth, only disappointment was the chips as nothing special and should be a bit better when going with a £75 sharing platter. would i go again? yes indeed.
Sunday 25 june. we had a lovely meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. initially booked for lunch time but due to the heat we wanted to change to the early evening. when we rang, they were very pleasant and it seemed like it was no trouble at all. we were greeted as we arrived and seated straight away. we had a lovely server called ayu who couldn't have been better. she seemed to know exactly when we needed her and yet did not hover around us. such a pleasant lady, always with a genuine smile and lovely personality. she was very busy during our time there and yet her service standard never wavered. the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. we both had baked cheddar mushrooms to start, 10 sirloin steak for my husband and rack of lamb for me. we then both finished off with the vanilla basque cheesecake. we would definitely recommend coming here and will probably make our way over here again one day.
