I feel the staff are lovely and friendly and do the job very well and the reception team are amazing so helpful but if u have a child with special needs and it can be struggle for the parent to bring them in to the dentist and I think they should make allowances for children with special needs. They do get nervous , They do touch equipment they do move around in the area which they should not be in and I think the Dentist should take that on board and it has been an issue on many time I have come in with my child There is a staff member who has her own children with additional needs and she is amazing. She’s always helpful, friendly and she really understands the need of a child with additional needs from her own experience I’m very grateful when she is in and helping me. Last week when I came in she was amazing and trying help calm my child down with tooth brush. I feel they know the child is coming in with additional needs, and they shouldn’t really allow them to wait longer than few minutes they don’t take into consideration that a child is with additional needs and struggles with waiting times. It’s also the smell of the Dentist it’s a new place with bright lights. All of this affects a child and the longer the wait the worst a meltdown is. When the child is touching the equipment, I feel they can be quite stern with the Child instead of letting them play with the equipment and getting them to look in the mirror and getting them to show them the teeth and making it more fun and making a child at ease, which makes a parent at ease and makes it more enjoyable for the child come back in six months time, I feel more can be done to help out a struggling parent All the receptionist & the assistance in the room, a friendly, amazing and supportive, but I do feel the dentist themself need more experience in dealing with additional needs and have tone about them if the child touches something and it made it hard for me as parent and I gone away unhappy
