Derek has a great eye for detail. every time we look at the two paintings he has done for us we find something new to catch our eye. not only is he a brilliant artist he is also a very friendly and polite person. he strives to give you what you want but has the expert knowledge to advise what will and will not work within a painting. every thing within his paintings is well proportioned and no object looks out of place. would recommend derek to anyone.

It’s important to note that i have known the artist derek shapiro more than 20 years within that time we have commissioned 5 individual paintings of various types, horses, wildlife, landscapes and still life . each painting tells a story and what’s equally important is knowing the subject that has been painted and derek captures it perfectly . from my experience is takes a very good artist to be able to portray that constancy throughout a extensive portfolio. derek also besides oil painting is also a perfectionist when it comes to just drawings , you name it , he can do it . finally it has always amazed me personally how someone can have that talent to reproduce what one can visually see so perfectly on canvas. b tgarbett .
