Derek has a great eye for detail. Every time we look at the two paintings he has done for us we find something new to catch our eye. Not only is he a brilliant artist he is also a very friendly and polite person. He strives to give you what you want but has the expert knowledge to advise what will and will not work within a painting. Every thing within his paintings is well proportioned and no object looks out of place. Would recommend Derek to anyone.

It’s important to note that I have known the artist Derek Shapiro more than 20 years within that time we have commissioned 5 individual paintings of various types, horses, wildlife, landscapes and still life . Each painting tells a story and what’s equally important is knowing the subject that has been painted and Derek captures it perfectly . From my experience is takes a very good artist to be able to portray that constancy throughout a extensive portfolio. Derek also besides oil painting is also a perfectionist when it comes to just drawings , you name it , he can do it .
