Halfords - Crewe

Purchased a HCB075 halfords orange label car battery back in august 2022,it lasted a year,would not hold its charge,i plugged my battery charger in and it took 36 hours to charge from 11.8v to full! At first I thought my charger was at fault so I charged the battery off my other car as the alternator failed from the same ironically 11.8v and that charged fully in under 12 hours (was not a halfords battery) so took it back to this store (September 2023) they exchanged it and low and behold October 28th 2023 battery was flat in 3 days of not even being connected to the car! Connected my charger to find it wouldn't charge,this battery was faulty within 6 weeks! Took it back,Staff were helpful all but the manager Jordan who thought it was funny to laugh when I asked for a refund,they don't do refunds only exchange! Says nothing about refunds in the warranty policy that they do or don't,So it cost me an extra £31 for a better battery the same as on the other car that took less than 12 hours to charge! The manager would not give any discount for the inconvenience, he then tried to say there was something draining the battery on the car even when I specifically told him 3 times the battery was disconnected and not holding its charge! Its cost me fuel on an 80 miles round trip going back twice,so let's see if customer service come good on fuel reimbursement,highly doubt it but we'll see,I wouldn't buy anything electrical from here again,anywhere else would refund you but this manager tried telling me they don't,I will never go in to halfords again after this poor experience,there are plenty of other stores that would be happy to look after customers.

A perfect place to buy bikes and scooters (plus a car rack) for all the family. Great value and knowledgeable helpful staff

Website said "collect today" when I placed the order. The email said "ready for collection". Item was not in stock and will not be for at least 5 days. Staff said it was nothing to do with them, and that online purchases were always like this. No apology. Absolute shambles. If I'd made a special or long journey I'd be furious. Will not use click and collect again.

MAX,customer service second to non!what a star this guy is and went above and beyond,staying over his shift end to end his CS with me. JORDON,super CS also and build skills extreme,this guy know it all and checked my bike in rapid time. BEN,CS fabulous and assisted with the how too's even down to the best way to lock my bike up. Thank you all Crewe team,what a pleasant experience from buying my power assisted bike,to the build and hand over! Dream team,thank you guys,Halfords are extremely lucky to have you guys onboard 👏🏅

Not a very good experience. After a few short months of purchasing a Carrera vengeance, the brakes fell apart. I did insist that brakes are an important component on a bike, health and safety wise , so reluctantly they replaced them. The Carrera cost just shy of £400.00 , just 10 months later and the derailleur gear buckled and collapsed. I did wonder at first if my son had broken it, so I took the mechanism off the bike . And I left just one gear on the bicycle. Unfortunately, the main chainset also buckled badly within a day. So I could eliminate if my son was at fault, i got an old chain set of an older Carrera and put that on the bike. It worked. Jordan at Halfords, said that I had run over it in my car. I’m not quite that desperate for money and I’m pretty sure my son hasn’t been in a car accident. His own school friends Carrera was trashed within 5 months. These bikes and their parts are not durable or fit for purpose. Halfords are only prepared to guarantee the bike frame, for a reason… the link Halfords left at the bottom doesn’t work, how ironic!
