Dartford Borough Museum

One of the smallest museums in Kent, which is reflected in the number of exhibits on display at any one time, but still a very fascinating insight in to the history of the area. Although there are some activities for children to try, don't expect a visit to hold a child's attention for more than half an hour.

This delightful little museum manages to cram a lot of interesting artefacts into very little space. While it may be fairly small and the decor a little dated, for a local library museum this is definitely worth visiting if you find yourself near by with a bit of time. The building itself is of great historical interest, and the friendly curator will always be happy to spare some time to help you in any way he can. Dartford has a history the vast majority of its citizens know nothing about....come and find it here!

Free to visit. The entrance is closed, but you can get into the museum through the library.

A nice one large room local museum with interesting items. Close to the center, of town which has good everyday shopping. Do go in if you are in the area but I wouldn't make a special drive to visit.

Every town has a history to tell and to find out more about Dartford this small museum is milestone. Having lived in Dartford for 7 years, I have not visited this museum but this week decided to go. Main entrance was closed and with an assistance of library staff managed to visit via library. Did not know Dartford has that long and glorious history. Recommend every Dartfordian to pay a visit which does not take long. Hats off to those who decided to keep the history alive.
