Morley Hayes

Went for lunch with a friend. I always have a jacket potato with cheese & coleslaw, but it all looked smaller than usual. The potato was quite small, there just seemed less on the plate.

Disappointed as we have dined over many years at Morley Hayes but seems to have taken a turn for the worst. We did not feel at all welcome. Food was below average and not value for money. After ordering drinks a Spanish beer and a Pinot Grigio was informed later that they had run out, ordered an alternative Sauvignon blanc, which had no flavour and could have been water. Husband also commented that the beer was poor and tasteless. We ordered the Sunday special, which arrived quickly and felt the waitress threw the plates of food on the table and the food was cold. Desert was better, although the apple and almond pie was not presented well, it was hot and had some taste, however waitress threw desert cutlery at husband. Coffee machine was so noisy that it was difficult to have a conversation at the table. Again the waitress was not polite in serving coffee and it was slammed down on the table, coffee tasted insipid. Finally, my husband was up chronically Ill during the night post the meal. Needless to say Morley Hayes Rooster Restaurant and Bar is not a place we would go to eat or drink at in the future.

I had a lasagne with should have been sent straight back to the kitchen. No presentation, hardly any meat, dry. The only favour. ..tomato puree... yuck. The garlic bread was a quarter piece of crust that had been warmed up so many times. The only reason this wasn't sorted at the time was, I was guest, with friends. I will NOT be returning as this isn't the first disappointing experience. It use to be so lovely. .. such a shame.

We will never forget our beautiful wedding at Morley Hayes. All the team are very helpful in making our dreams come true. Megan was extremely helpful responding to all my emails/queries instantly and the whole team just made you feel at ease. The wedding day itself was just perfect! It was everything a bride could have wished for and much more. The food was outstanding, the evening buffet was mouthwatering. Our guest felt very special and people continuously complimented the food to us. My mum felt very honoured that they accommodated her wheat allergy and provided her with her own edible buffet food. Morley Hayes is very picturesque. We had the opportunity to explore the gardens which made our wedding photographs stunning. Morley Hayes also accommodated for us to have sparklers at night, this finished our wedding off beautifully. Thank you Morley Hayes for making our special day a day to remember forever. Wonderful location, excellent golf course given the recent weather. great staff and delicious locally sourced produce. Even bumped into the owners of the hotel when in need of motoring assistance! Not many owners would pull the strings to help get your van jump started! Thank you Robert and Andrew! I will definitely be making a visit again in the future for a stay in your hotel.
