Pentahotel Derby

The hotel is clean and tidy with good staff and nice rooms. The bed was comfortable and there is a good selection of channels on the TV, much better than a lot of other hotels. Check in and out was efficient. What lowers the score is the food, the menu is limited and dinner really not great. Fish and chips were soggy, and chicken burger not good value. Breakfast on Tuesday was decent but Wednesday cold beans and Thursday cold sausage, almost raw bacon and soggy hash browns. I would stay again but eat elsewhere as there is a good choice on Pride Park and in town.

Great hotel. Big shoutout to the staff in the evenings behind reception/the bar- kept things very entertaining and fun during our two day stay. PS1 and free pool table a massive benefit - genuinely felt like a home away from home rather than a stay at a hotel. Room was as expected, good shower. Half decent gym (could do with more weights/equipment, but nothing massive to complain about) sauna is a nice addition too. Would 100% recommend and stay again if I was in the area.

A great, relaxed hotel. Relaxing social area downstairs in the bar - free pool and comfy chairs / sofas allowed for a family to spend quality time together. Believe the bar is open all night if you so require! Loved the breakfast - there was so much choice as well as the usual cooked and continental stuff (bagels, overnight oats, fruit salads, hash browns!) Right next to train station which was handy for family members travelling to a wedding nearby as could drop bags off easily and get off. Check in was easy - they worked extremely hard to enable a few of us to get checked in early so we could get ready for a family wedding so appreciative of this. CCTV in car park so felt fine leaving car there. Didn't use the gym but looked fine! Slept well, beds were comfy and the shower was great. Hairdryer in room and complimentary bottles of water, tea and coffee making facilities that you could request more if needed. We ate an evening meal on the Saturday night which took a bit of time to come but appreciated it was busy and the server lady was incredibly accommodating for our large group and she was very nice/ efficient! Top tip: Become a friend and mention it for discount on food and drink every time you're at the bar!

Great hotel and good value for money. The breakfast offers an extraordinary variety in that category of hotel. In order to be greener, the hotel offers on-demand cleaning. You need to put a sign outside your room the evening before. The interior has seen a few seasons, but all in all it is in a good condition, tidy and clean. One of my favourite hotels when I stay in Derby.
