Popped in off the cuff for lunch on father's day with my mum and the kids as i used to enjoy la pizza (the rest of the family never used to be as keen as me). more choice now, pizza and pasta is phenomenal, our new derby favourite, the kids loved their food. bruschetta and garlic bread were amazing, penne bolognese and caprese pizza were as good as anything in italy, and we drive to italy 1-2 times per year. very generous portions, excellent quality ingredients, brought us some complimentary profiteroles with the bill. £70 for 3 courses with drinks is very reasonable for the standard of food. a brilliant experience for father's day, which isn't always the case! all the staff should be very proud, keep up the great start 👍 ps i'm looking forward to my leftovers later 🤣🤣🤣
Last minute date night. got a table even though busy. seeing the pizza oven when first walk in was incredible, smelt amazing. the service was 10/10, so welcoming and attentive. the food was delicious - buffalo mozzarella pizza, pepperoni pizza and calamari starter. took leftovers home as portion size was really good and we couldn’t finish. would recommend to everyone, absolutely loved it.
Delicious pizzas, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. we’ve got a jug of water for each table. i’m so glad to have this new restaurant near my home. will definitely return👍🏻
For some authentic neapolitan sourdough pizzas lalis is the place to be. we decided to dine-in and while waiting to be seated we saw the chef dishing out pizza after pizza by the minute for dine-in and delivery from the wood fire oven. once seated in an italian flag theme setup, we chose the margherita and pizza di pollo from the menu. there are several options for vegetarians and pasta lovers as well. the pizza is ready and served hot to the table. the cheesiness of the mozzarella fior di latte complete with the sauce and thin crust makes every bite a delicious one. with roast chicken, mushrooms, sweetcorn, green peppers, the pizza di pollo would be a favourite to anyone who loves toppings on a thin crust pizza. (i personally would have preferred the chicken to have some spice to it).
The pizza is really good! the dough is well cooked and the flavours we tried (margherita and pizza caprese) were very tasty. we had two desserts and our favourite was definitely profiterols whereas the tiramisù was not so authentic.
