More or less what i have come to expect in a weatherspoon establishment. pleasant repurposed building (used to be a bank). when i visited on armistice day it was very busy and i had to wait around 15 minutes to get served. they could do with more staff. having said that, the staff were polite and attentive, despite working under pressure.
After redecorated, we almost visited here every friday after work. the place is big and very traditional and beautiful, with a large bar area. the food, drink and wine is good and cheaper than other pubs and restaurants. besides, various age group will be here, unlike others just either of the older or the youth. in additional, many families will come to here to get their breakfast as the breakfast menu has much varieties. in summary, it may be the best place in derby to have a gathering, especially need a big big venus with many many people joining.
Staff really helped with accessible washroom that was locked and out of paper. food is passable. it's ok but nothing special. but the beer's great.
This was a fantastic pub to go drinking at, with a grand design particularly the colossal roof! best wetherspoons in derby; the chandeliers are beautiful, staff make us welcome and the counter is well-presented. me and my friend enjoyed a cocktail pitcher and mini cheddars that are very cheap, sitting comfortably at a clean table!
Great wetherspoons pub, use to be a bank years ago, the style of this magnificent building has been nicely preserved. beer excellent, i drink real ale. tried food here and that’s good too. price’s brilliant as you’d expect from wetherspoons. cleanliness good including the toilets. staff nice, well recommended 👍
