Travelodge Doncaster Lakeside

Lovely lake with walkway right at the back of the hotel. Subway and Pizza restaurant on main floor. Just a few minutes walk to a boutiquey type shopping area, and a good sized B&M. Less than £10 taxi from train station.

Probably the best located Travelodge I've ever stayed in with fantastic views over a beautiful lake if you are on that side. The rooms are what you expect, clean and functional, all you need, just take your own milk and tea 😁 In the surrounding area there are plenty of places to eat and visit, though there isn't a place to get breakfast within a 5 minute walk, no Biggie, there's a great Toby 5 minutes drive or a Beefeater 3 minutes. We had one issue in our room but that was going to be fixed, and some of the other guests left a lot to be desired, but what can you do, it's budget for a reason (no excuse though, idiots).

Its a Travelodge, so the rooms are functional and there is free parking. I got a good night's sleep and that's the main thing. The amazing part is it is on the edge of the lake and the view from the room was stunning. Don't expect a bar and breakfast is available as a boxed breakfast. But downstairs is a Subway, perfect to grab a coffee (as I did to take out and go and sit by the lake) or snack and a Beefeater is a five minute walk away.

Big clean rooms, quiet, relaxing, great views of the lake if you are at the back of the building. Only down side was we were right next to the incoming door to the corridor so it kept banging all the time, next we will ask if we can be further down the corridor. Pre-ordered breakfast, which was packed ready to take to the room. Not a bad stay at all.

First time here. To be honest, we only stay at Travelodges because they are dog friendly and relatively cheap. We had a room at the back with a great view of the lakes. Would probably return when the weather is sunnier. It is what is cheap,basic in a good location.
