The Red Lion - JD Wetherspoon

Called in here for a breakfast while working close by in Doncaster. Typical JD Wetherspoons, good food at reasonable prices. Seemed quite busy for a Friday morning but still didn't have to wait too long for food to be delivered to the table. Staff were quite friendly to say they were busy. Not much more to say, will definitely be returning again soon.

Food was really really good and was fast at being served. Drinks were delivered swiftly to the tables as well. Toilets look like something out of a Nandos. It's fairly central and close to the railway station so is a good place to come for cheap food and drink. Just your typical Wetherspoons.

Check in was a bit different, had to wait for a bartender to come. Room was very nice, very clean and very comfortable. Bat staff was good. Food staff where not very attentive and the food was ok. I had the 8os steak and it only came with a bit of mashed. Breakfast was good and the morning staff more than made up for the dinner staff.

Food in the pub came out very hot and fresh, a very tasty meal. The waitress in particular was lovely, she was super friendly and helpful. It does get very busy in the pub but we’ve always managed to find a table. They also have a large outdoor area too. Staying in the hotel the room was beautiful, nice decor and clean. The location is great if you’re wanting to be in the town centre, it’s close to pubs, restaurants, bars, shops and the market.

I visited The Red Lion with three friends, and unfortunately, my order seemed to vanish into thin air. Despite repeated assurances that my food was on its way, it never arrived. To add to the confusion, my order was accidentally removed because of a change made by someone else at the table. This left me hungry and disappointed, and the situation was far from ideal. This isn't the first time I've encountered issues with orders, but this incident was particularly frustrating. It's disheartening when simple mistakes lead to such inconveniences, especially when it comes to something as basic as getting a meal order right. However, The Red Lion does have its positives. The prices of bottled drinks are relatively affordable compared to many other places in the area. For those looking for a budget-friendly spot to grab a drink, it's a convenient choice. I wouldn't say go for the ambiance, while the toilets are actually stunning the main pub area isn't. You've very likely to be entertained by some punter causing a scene or police coming in after someone.
