The Keep Military Museum

After visiting the Dorset Museum down the road we were very disappointed so decided to call in here. Wow. What an amazing museum with friendly staff and a vast collection of objects, medals, uniforms and knowledge. One of the best museums we’ve been to and definitely the best in Dorchester!

Had a lovely time here while visiting Dorchester on holiday!! Run by volunteers it's a lovely museum in an old Keep and Prison!! It's the story of the Dorchester regiment and their history over hundreds of years! You can also go up the top of the Keep which has lovely views of the countryside!!

A small but interesting and comprehensive set of exhibits from various conflicts all over the world. Some quite poignant artifacts with various bullets lodged in items. Seeing Hitlers desk was certainly a suprise. The views from the roof are really great!
