Probably wouldn’t choose a hungry horse if I didn’t have children but when you do it’s a good option. Kids menu is to kids taste and good value and the outdoor play area means the kids are happy ( and then so are the parents) Not the most modern or clean compared to other hungry horses I’ve visited but satisfactory none the less.

been here a few times. food is excellent and the atmosphere is always welcoming and uplifting. the staff are amazing and always make sure you’re visit is pleasant- ESPECIALLY JOHN. he was the highlight of our last meal and continued to make us laugh and make sure everything was okay from our meals to our experience. will definitely be coming again soon!

Called in for tea and then later for a drink after an event as we were staying next door. Staff were amazing on an exceptionally busy Saturday evening. Manageress made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to be friendly and helpful. Food was good value, piping hot, tasty and quickly served. It's located close to castle and museum so we will definitely look forward to planning another visit. Thank you for making a lovely evening.

Went with the family; a birthday meal for my niece! Clean restaurant, tasty food and polite attentive service. The staff were extremely helpful, constantly smiling and very accommodating from the second we entered the building. The shift manager was very happy and flamboyant; his good positive energy spread throughout his team…! We enjoyed the food and the ambiance; thank you guys!!

Four of us visited the Castle View for lunch on Tuesday 13/06/23. The premises are large, open plan with contemporary styling that is fairly typical of modern family chain pubs. The decor is nicely designed and whilst beginning to look tired in some area it remains acceptable. On our arrival tables were clear and the interior was clean, although we did notice food on the floor beneath a number of tables (presumably dropped by customers earlier in the day and not swept away when they left). We ordered through the Greene King app which was slick and straight forward to use. There was a good selection of food and drink to choose from. We spoke with three staff during our visit and all were pleasant and helpful. Drinks were brought to our table almost immediately after ordering and the food took 35 minutes. The food was of reasonable quality for the price paid; it was nicely prepared and well presented. We had two minor constructive criticisms about the food, 1) one ‘hand battered’ fish was pretty devoid of fish but another was fine and 2) the baguette contained raw onion not shown on the menu in the app. In summary, this is a pretty good pub chain restaurant, offering straight forward food in pleasant surroundings at a fair price. The team seem well motivated and are doing a good job. We would return and can recommend.
