Kings Coffee and Books

My go-to place when I'm trapped in Dumfries by the limited train service. Lovely coffee (maybe a bit pricy, but I suppose everything has gone up), nice atmosphere, lovely friendly staff. Lots of natural, live plants, which give it a pleasant, low-key jungle vibe. Vegan options available.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful spot for tea and scones on a rainy day...but sadly, there aren't really books.

Excellent latte and a super sourdough toast, what a find in the middle of Dumfries. Very friendly service. Tables inside and out and good wheelchair access.

Stopped by late afternoon for a drink and cake. It's nice to find somewhere that stays open until 5pm. We had a chai milkshake and a latte, both were really good. We shared a slice of lemon and elderflower cake. That was absolutely delicious, not too sweet and just the right amount of sharpness. This was the first time we've been in here. We will definitely be back.
