Tam 'O Shanter Inn

One of the best pubs in dumfries. beer is good, wide selection of spirits, and a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

Comfy wee pub for a drink if up the town centre area. clean and tidy with a good var selection. also a small "snug" seated area and a decent pool room. has one of them internet type juke boxes that i can never find the songs i want to listen to on though for whatever reason. also now got sky football on a big tv in main bar area.

4 real ales on good choice.atmosphere good. happy staff. camera discount.

New owners of this inn have updated this bar but not took away its traditional feel. a gantry full of bottles to suit all. gin menu, speciality whisky menu and a rum menu. a pub you can visit for a quiet drink or with company and enjoy the games room at the rear. an outdoor smoking/vaping area with shelter from the elements.

Popped in here for a pint before heading upstairs to the steak night at back street. given that our first watering hole (brewery tap) had charged us £9 for two drinks [which were only 2/3 pint each!] it was a pleasant surprise to only be charged £6.50 for a pint of golden salamander and a pint of stella. first visit since new owners and refurb. well done.
