Very nice & clean hotel. stayed here on two separate occasions. pool, spa & exercise equipment were great! friendly & helpful staff. breakfast was good & a large selection.
Stopped here with my fiance on the way to our wedding. the staff were amazing from the moment we walked through the door, so helpful and lovely to speak to. the food was delicious. the facilities were great and we had a lovely relaxing night. we will definitely book another stay here in the future. a massive thank you to all of your team from the reception, restaurant, gym and spa you were all so welcoming and gave us the most perfect start to our wedding weekend.
We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our visit. very clean. food excellent. staff very friendly and helpful. some minor details could be better, such as more powerpoints in rooms, clearer signage to locate rooms from the small lift, printed drinks price list in the bar. some of the decor is unusual - there's a preponderance of grey in some areas.
I was brought here for a birthday surprise. from the time we walked in and met dougie we felt welcomed. we went up to our room which was on the first floor. we had a choice of a short stair walk or taking the lift. when we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised, because even though the room was designed in a classical style, the bathroom was out of this world with a tv in the spa bath which we both took full advantage of. the room was clean and the maids clean the room brilliantly everyday. we then had our first evening meal in the restaurant and wow! even though there was not much choice. this was still one of the best hotel meals we have had in our many hotel visits. the staff once again shining, this time we were served by sam and she was attentive and welcoming too. we then went down to explore the spa and gym and here again we met another of their amazing staff members sue. who was welcoming and even when she was not at work took the time to come over to us and have a chat and make us feel special. we used the facilities here the next evening and the atmosphere was lovely in the evening. we attended their rat pack cabaret, which was ok but could have been better if they stayed away from mostly play 80s which was not what we were expecting. all in all we had an amazing weekend here and would recommend it to anyone who is look for a relaxing weekend away. thank you all for making my birthday weekend feel so special. we love your eye for the little details which made the room stand out eg coffee machine and bathroom toiletries were amazing. we will be back…
We came for a 3 night break, mid week in october. the idea was to relax and use the spa / gym facilities. have a look around dumfries and the surrounding area. the hotel is easy to find with a good sized car park. all the staff have been friendly and helpful. the restaurant has 5 or 6 main course choices and the food overall has been good. the breakfast is as expected, cooked and or cereal, fruit yogurt etc... our room is a king and the bed is plenty big enough. the mattress is very hard though. i have to say there isn't a great deal to do in dumfries. you can drive for less than an hour and find places of interest. overall it hits the mark, 3 days relaxing in a nice hotel. if you are visiting dumfries or the surrounding area i would recommend this hotel.
