Beamish, the Living Museum of the North

Lots of parking. Excellent system for getting in. Not badly priced as your ticket is valid for a year. All staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Absolutely magical at Christmas

Huge, getting huger and totally cool. Proper shops, proper roads, proper vehicles and proper buildings. Basically, you guessed it, it's proper good. Loving and living history. Gift shop too expensive though but frankly it's the smallest part so no worries. My photos are poor, I was in charge of the pram.. but go!

We had a great trip to Beamish. It was good to see the site develop and get new areas. The volunteers were friendly and informative and brought the place to life. As the tickets gives us access for a year we’d like to come back in the summer and spend the day looking around.
