Wasn't able to go in but a famous church because of its location looking up at the castle and being positioned in the gardens and just off princes street. the graveyard is a great spot for pics of the castle
So glad i did not miss going to this lovely kirk l surrounded by its kirkyard and gardens. two lovely elderly keepers inside who are so so knowledgeable and so enthusiastic about the place and its origins. lovely talking to them. impressive also to see the small chapel where agatha christie celebrated her second marriage.
Located in the long shadows of edinburgh castle lies an atmospheric church, nestled amongst a landscape of headstones, paths and trees. often passed by without thought this place provides the opportunity for a refuge from the hustle of the streets above. walk here in silence and reflect on those who have come before. stop and read their stories on the markers and headstones. the paths offer a chance to relax and slow down and contemplate the history of this great city.
