Head Start Dog Training

Our wee furry Pintxo & us had several sessions of training with Katya and it was the best decision for all of us. She provided a lot of resources to improve the training of Pintxo and we learnt a lot of useful techniques to help Pintxo in many situation. We recommend Katya very highly :)

Katya was great, right from the start, by giving us clear advice on what to bring, and advising us which class would be most appropriate. Olive, started her first class as a lively seven month old Working Cocker Spaniel puppy and really benefited from the classes. It really is as much about training the owner as training the puppy. We thoroughly recommend Head Start Dog Training.

My pup (Daisy) and I attended Katya’s Adolescents classes after Daisy entered her teenager phase. We both loved coming to the classes each week. One of our main struggles was loose leash walking. Katya was able to help both me and Daisy with this, by showing me how to communicate to Daisy what I would like her to do. Our dog walks are now a lot calmer and pleasant now. Katya always follows up every class with a detailed email explaining and demonstrating all the skills shown during the lesson, this meant I could give the same information to my husband so we would both train/work with Daisy the same, preventing any confusion for her. It is quite clear from the first class with Katya she is a very kind, understanding and patient person. By keeping her classes smaller allows for a more personal training/teaching experience as Katya gets to know you and your own dog. I cannot recommend Katya enough. Thank you for all your help!

We had private lessons with Katya for our border terrier puppy Hamish (from around 6 months old). Hamish has a lot of energy and is a very excitable dog, so we were really needing some help to ensure we were on the right track with his training. We had such a positive experience with the lessons. Hamish loved Katya as soon as he met her, and soon learnt that seeing Katya meant it was time for training so he was really engaged during lessons which helped a lot. Katya is a really excellent teacher, she is very patient and clearly explains the techniques and training methods we should use, allowing us to practice these during the sessions so we felt confident continuing these on our own. We always felt very motivated to keep practicing and training after every lesson. A lot was covered during the training including loose lead walking, teaching Hamish to settle and working on his patience and impulse control, as well as managing his interactions with other dogs. Katya always listened to our concerns and areas we wanted to work on, and would ensure the lessons were tailored to cover these. It was very clear that a lot of consideration and planning had been put into every lesson. We've seen so much improvement in Hamish's behaviour since our lessons with Katya, and we have learnt so many training exercises and techniques we can continue to use. Thank you Katya, your lessons have been such a huge help to us!

I recently joined puppy classes at Head Start Dog Training, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The dog trainer, Katya, truly stood out with her remarkable skills and dedication to her work. From the moment I arrived at the training center, it was evident that Katya was deeply passionate about her profession. Her enthusiasm and love for dogs shone through, creating a warm and welcoming environment for both the puppies and their owners. Katya created a positive and encouraging atmosphere during the classes. She always provided constructive feedback and gentle corrections, ensuring that the puppies learned in a safe and supportive environment. Her instructions were easy to follow, and she made sure to address each participant's individual needs and concerns. Overall, I cannot recommend Head Start Dog Training and Katya enough!🤍
