Merchiston Dry Cleaners

I have been using this business for about 15 years and my experience with them is varied. They have managed to ruin two expensive items. I can forgive my coat, which they somehow bleached unevenly, but I am still sore about my curtains. Those lovely, billowy curtains (and quite new) were returned to me as no better than rags. I guess it was their ironing which warped them out of shape, so much so that afterwards they never hung properly. They looked like two lifeless pieces of cloth with the lining sticking out here, but shrunk there and the edges so over-stretched that they billowed horizontally. There was nothing else to do but get some new ones made.... Be that as it may, I still take them my woollens which they seem to be able to deal with, but nothing else.

Recently used this dry cleaners when I was in a pinch and needed my dinner suit dry cleaned for an event that evening. I dropped my suit off at 10am and the staff at Merchiston Dry Cleaners promised to have it ready for 4.30 pm pick up. I can safely say they went above and beyond this promise - my suit looked immaculate and they had even repaired a button that was loose when I handed the suit in. All done in a very quick turnaround. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for dry cleaning services in Edinburgh 👍🏼

These people are miracle workers! Put in my leather jacket to be cleaned a week ago. It was a depop buy and was crushed & a bit smelly. After working their magic it literally looks brand new! Genuinely brilliant, thanks 👍🏻

Excellent service! I took a dress in on Friday morning with some minor stains, and it was ready Monday afternoon, perfect as I'm going away for a wedding. The stains proved a bit tricky to get out so they cleaned it twice and then did some extra work to make it perfect. Cannot thank you enough!

Cannot recommend this place enough!! The people are absolutely lovely and incredibly knowledgeable at what they do. During the Edinburgh Fringe Festival I had a beige vintage dress that got stained with blackcurrant ribena during a performance. I was told by multiple companies that they couldn’t help and it would be impossible to get rid of (especially with only a 24-hour timeframe to get it fixed). I had pretty much lost hope in being able to get the stains out until I came to Merchiston Dry Cleaners where Leanne was so incredibly helpful; she took the time to chat through all the - realistic - options we had to safely get the stain out without damaging the dress. Leanne helped us on a day off and was able to drastically lighten the stain on the dress. Thank you for the incredible service!
