I didn't have a chance to play a round, but i did smash a few balls at the range. the service was fast and friendly. the price was fair and the place was clean. the hitting area is astroturf and is also covered to keep the rain off ya.
If you are reading these reviews then you are probably considering whether to book a round here. yes. yes. absolutely. do it now. it is one of the most interesting and enjoyable courses you will play in edinburgh. some people might turn their noses up at a 'council course', but don't be fooled, this is a fabulously designed golf course (by james braid) which full utilises the surrounding landscape. every hole is interesting and unique and theres a couple of holes that provide alternate routes which sparked much debate on the tee box. it's not massively long, but it does require a degree of accuracy. the greens were in great condition when we played (august), they undulate and some are massive. the bunkers, often the weakest part of council courses, were much better than i expected, although they did still have the odd pebble. oh... and to top it off, you will get some of the best views of edinburgh. jaw dropping. it is quite hilly however and there are no carts. but it was short enough to carry without getting too exhausted. it's great value for money. book now.
Fun course, lots of blind shots. course is in good condition and was quiet when i played.
A truly spectacular scottish golf course with a more than reasonable municipal greens fee. whether a tourist or a local, you cannot go wrong with spending a day at braid hills.
What a fantastic course with amazing views of edinburgh. there are so many beautiful holes and the greens were in great condition…. and it’s a council course! we paid £25! bargain
