The Place Hotel

Stunning hotel, wonderful staff, room was lovely missing some air conditioning or a window to open wish I'd brought my fan, bathroom was small but perfect for what is needed and the shower was just right after our long journey

This was a lovely hotel. And the staff were amazing! We did have an issue with the room and the locking system, but everything was dealt with super professionally and we were given a refund. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel itself is quite nice, but the staff are the real stars. Wonderful people working there. We did have an issue with our room but the staff were so friendly and helpful and gave us a full refund, which we really appreciated. Because of this we’d definitely come back.

Nice hotel and very convenient location. The rooms are clean but very small and stuffy. No bedside table on my side, cramped inside de the room with no air-conditioning and a tiny ceiling windows to open so no fresh air or enough natural light. Staff at the reception were very helpful, however staff for the breakfast were not good at all. Waited more than 10 minutes in the morning to be seated at the breakfast table, with a shy "good morning", and little to no explanation about the breakfast menu and hot food. The waitress disappeared again and it took them 30 minutes to bring an omelette on the first day! Second day was a bit faster but the same lady looked like she didn't want to deal with people in the morning!

We stayed at the Place for a night in July and then another 3 nights a week later. We were upgraded for some reason on the second visit and the room was amazing with great views of the Firth of Forth. The staff were all great, friendly and helpful. One young lady helped me order a pizza using my phone when we were too tired to go out to eat. Breakfast was great. I had eggs Benedict. The bar and lounge are great but surprisingly under patronized. The location is also fantastic being close to the bus and train stations and restaurants. There is no elevator but the staff are more than happy to carry suitcases up and down the stairs. I would definitely stay there again. I highly recommend Amarone restaurant for dinner. It was recommended to us by the receptionist at the Place and was fantastic in every way.
