Edinburgh Zoo

Great day out. Zoo is on a hill so quite a challenge to get all the way up and around but definitely worth it. Animals are lovely and well looked after. Plenty to do and reasonably priced. Would recommend for single visit or with family / friends. Takes a few hours. Plenty of parking which costs but for Edinburgh it’s very handy. Would definitely revisit. Loved the tigers and lions. Buy tickets in advance to save yourself some money.

My wife and I decided to visit the zoo to see the panda’s before they depart. The place was packed with tourists and locals alike, with much to see for all ages. Play / snacking areas are available for whole day visits. We spent four leisurely hours touring the zoo and managed to see all there was to see. The only drawback was the steep terrain which would definitely be a challenge to some, particularly if pushing a buggy and / or for wheelchair users. Motorised buggies are available at no extra cost for those with mobility issues. The cafeteria provides good quality food at reasonable prices. Alternatively there are a number of rest areas where you are free to consume your own packed lunch. All in all we had a great experience and a very pleasant day out. One star dropped because some of the viewing windows were dirty, spoiling the outcome of some photos.

We had a great day out at the zoo. We found everyone there extremely friendly and helpful. There is plenty of disabled parking and a free ride to get you about the zoo which is very hilly. We used the ride to get to the top and spent the day meandering down. Some of the paths are a little taxing for people who rely on wheels. The pandas are amazing as are the Koalas. We spent ages just watching them. There are plenty of facilities for disabled people.

Spectacular place to visit! With a wide variety of animals from all over the world this zoo is great place of attraction for animal lovers, the staff are very friendly and helpful too. There is loads of parking on site and it's very accessible with buses too, plenty of facilities within the zoo for food etc too. Would definitely recommend for a day or two out to explore these magnificent animals in the nature :)

Edinburgh Zoo is brilliant, could spend a whole day checking out all the animals. My personal favourite is the adorable penguins! Especially during the penguin parade in the afternoon. The directions are all clear and easy to navigate. There are cafes inside but it is expensive. Shop is great too!
