Way better than expected! and it just keeps going and going and going! they did a great job of providing activities for kids.
Thr museum is opposite to the people's story museum, and a few minutes' walk from the childhood museum. all of them are free. you should visit all in one go. the historic building houses the museum is called huntly house which was built or remodelled in 1570. i learned a lot about edinburgh's facinating history from reading the stories about the displayed objects. the story of greyfriars bobby brought me to tears.
Not bad but good job it’s a free museum. super squeaky floor everywhere, some collections not much interesting, loads of different vessels, dishes etc. i wish they talked more about the actual city and places in it. instead of mostly people and bits and bobs. could make it all so much more interesting too. but i guess worth stepping in if you’re going past.
Diverse free museum providing not only the history of edinburgh but is filled with decorative art with history about edinburgh's silver and glass industry. one has a chance to walk through the 16th century house through a maze of corridors
The edinburgh museum is a hidden gem in the heart of the city. i had the pleasure of visiting recently and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibits and the overall experience. the museum's layout is well thought out, allowing for easy navigation and exploration. the collection is diverse and covers a wide range of topics, providing a comprehensive view of edinburgh's history.
