Can't rate them highly enough. asked for a pet-friendly taxi to take my dog to the vet in an emergency. the taxi was here in no time and they rang my mobile to let me know they were outside. ordered one for the journey back after i left the vets. it was there in less than 5 minutes and really enjoyed the banter with the driver on the way back home. won't use any other taxi company again in future. thanks so much guys!

Central taxis are the taxi company to use if you are disabled as they work with the edinburgh taxi card scheme. if you are a taxi card user it is best to phone to book stating your taxi card number as drivers often ignore the notes section of any app bookings. almost all drivers have been brilliant and supportive and kind with me as a disabled passenger - however many are wheelchair exempt so be aware that you may need to transfer or wait longer for a wheelchair driver. despite booking in advance you may also wait long periods of time for a taxi. my wait times have varied from 3 minutes to over 2 hrs. many drivers apologise for the wait times and say its due to a lack of drivers on the road / in that area at certain times.

Brilliant staff - this was the only taxi company in edinburgh willing to help me (i called 5 or 6 companies) when my own car needed a jump start late at night after i had flown into edinburgh airport and needed to drive home. very friendly taxi driver who kindly went out of his way to help - huge thank you! whenever i need a taxi in edinburgh in future i will be sure to call central taxis and gladly pay for their service. thank you again.
