I will never forget the first time i visit the square. it was 2011and i found an apocalyptic landscape. lot of people congregated around capsized ambulances and trash trucks, police cars destroyed...it took me while realized that there were filming the movie world war z and the place was transformed to look like a us city. in any case, it worth visiting and enjoy the view of the buildings around. if you are lucky you can find an event with music, craft and good street food.
The centre of glasgow. it has key architectural buildings as well as statues of many important scottish figures including robert burns, james watt etc.
George square is a vibrant city centre location surrounded by impressive architecture and statues of famous figures. you can take a guided tour of city chambers, enjoy lunch in the square, or enjoy an outdoor event in one of the many festivals held there throughout the year. the area also offers an array of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, making it the perfect day out in glasgow.
Open space very near to glasgow queen street train station. a nice place to sit and spend some time. there are a lot of restaurants around the place. city centre and bus station are at a walkable distance.
A great place to relax, read a book, feed pigeons, enjoy the summer sun, or anything you'd love to do in a park . the seats placed all around the square are helpful especially for the elders. this is even awesome at night time as you can see in the photo. open for public. queen street train station just across the street. lots of nearby pubs as well. enjoy!
