Halifax Memorial

Quietly noble little tribute. Thoughtful. Lichen or oxidation spots threatening to obscure the lettering.

A lovely property with nice walking trails. A great diversion from work and the hotel.

Heavily oxidised bronze plaque erected as a memorial to crash victims on Harmondsworth moor. In 1943 a Canadian Halifax bomber crashed here killing the seven crew on board. The site is easy enough to reach via the gravel path. Parking is on the nearby road.
