I visited Alex Siddle 7 April with a problem with my right knee. I have a large Baker’s Cyst 7cm behind the knee joint which greatly restricts the movement. Initially I was referred to a consultant who recommended an immediate knee replacement without looking at the MRI scan “as it provided too much information” or asking the circumstances that could have caused the Bakers cyst. I was shocked that knee replacement was his choice. I wanted to see if there was an alternative to major surgery. Alex Siddle was recommended. He was thorough in his examination of the MRI report, of the joint, my fitness health, my level of pain and the circumstances leading to the initial rupture of the Bakers Cyst and its return 3 months later. He has provided a report for the consultant suggesting that an alternative to knee replacement should be considered. His advice and professionalism have provided me with a much greater understanding of the problem and the choices available.
