Going through the museum feels like taking a walk through the history of your shire and Humber region as far back as prehistoric times.

Extensive museum covering the areas past. It is clearly laid out and is informative. The staff are nice! The museum could do with some updating and taking the signage into the 21st century. Overall, it is good for a free museum

Great museum which shows East Riding of Yorkshire through the ages, from beginning of life with big Mammoth at the entrance through stone, bronze, iron age (with reconstruction of chariot from the chariot burial at Wetwang Slack) to more modern Celtic or Roman cultures up to Medieval period and beyond.
Did I mentioned that entrance is free?
Definitely worth visiting when you have a free day at Hull.

Free museum that is well looked after. The museum is wheelchair accessible in every way. Exhibits are amazing, they are split in to a different era, it looks like you are walking in to an area where it all happened.
The museum is average size, you probably will spend there an hour tops. I definitely enjoyed my visit.
