Great pub i often regrettably forget about. definitely worth a visit. cosy atmosphere, good selection of beers and ciders and pleasant clientele.
Absolutely my favourite place in hull. pies are delicious with lots of options
The sale makers arms in high street is in an old sale makers building hence the name. it has a nice courtyard in the front with a lot of outdoor seating. the inside is one large spacious room, there's also a large room upstairs for functions. the hand pulled cask conditioned real ale is absolutely top notch, a good choice and always great quality the pub is run by the same people who have the black boy about a hundred yards away on the same side of high street. the pub is very popular especially at weekends. the old town is the go-to destination now for city drinkers.
Another hidden gem in the old town on hull's high street. the food is excellent and the beer and other drinks well received. if you're lucky to meet toby the dog don't believe his big brown eyes, he's well fed and doesn't need your dinner
We had been told about the sailmakers arms and about the quality of their "pies" ... wonderful crisp pastry and fab fillings ... served with mash or chunky chips, minted peas .... great pint of beer ....thoroughly enjoyable lunch ... thank you
